WebQuest
The
Task
You are
a teacher in a large urban high school. Since you have access to
computers, the internet, and a V-Tel lab for video tele-conferencing. you
decide to construct a WebQuest to challenge your students and use the available
instructional technology effectively, efficiently, and creatively.
Your task
is to find a partner or a team from your school and construct a cross-curricular
WebQuest for your mutual students. You will post this WebQuest to
your school’s website, incorporate it into your classroom instruction,
and seek other teachers, anywhere, interested in refining and developing
it further.
The
Process
1.
Find a partner or team to cooperate with.
2.
Review the basic purpose and structure of a WebQuest.
3.
Plan and implement a collaborative exploration of recommended resources.
4.
Draft a rough sketch, a storyboard, of what the WebQuest will look like.
5.
Revise the draft of the WebQuest.
6.
Adapt the rubric template to measure your instructional intent, for each
content area.
7.
Publish the WebQuest on a website.
8.
Incorporate the WebQuest into your instruction.
9.
Revise the Web Quest using student suggestions.
10.
Cooperate with other teachers, via V-Tel and/or email to refine and
adapt your WebQuest.
